I can't believe I've never seen this before. It's possible to "hatch" chicks in plastic wrap suspended in cups so you can watch the development live!

I think I have new project!

Has anyone ever tried this? Did it work for you?

It’s more complicated than it sounds. You need special ear permeable plastic wrap, you can’t just use your regular old seran wrap because you need something to mimic the air permeability of a shell. You also need to have a calcium supplement mix in the cup, as well as an oxygen supply or you’ll kill them by day 17. Trust me, I’ve looked into this to a great degree, I’ve looked up many research papers on it. You can’t just crack an egg in a cup and think it’ll grow. So while it’s a cool idea it’s not as easy to replicate unfortunately
