What have you done today to save money?

I cook dinner each night. Dinner out is for special treats.
Dry almost all the laundry outside on the line.
Put in 2 huge gardens. Can spaghetti sauce and tomato juice. Freeze everything else that I can.
We hunt so a deer or two in the freezer last all year.
I only buy bread from the discount bread store. The date is gonna exspire in a day or two but for $.60 a loaf you can't beat it.
I pack lunches for the kids and husband.

Sorry for any typos holding baby that is trying to help me type.

I'm right there with ya honey! Taking her for a nap now... and taking 1 of the many clearance loaves of bread out of the freezer!

I just put my garden in yesterday...did half of the yard work myself (saves a ton on my gardener bill), traded 3 cords of firewood for 3/4 of a organic cow cut and wrapped!!!!!

Later I am going to go pick up more pallets for my breeding coops, free fencing from another company, have to go to the baseball park and get all the backstop fencing (the nylon kind, I use it for the top of the runs!).....Having DH stop at wal-mart and get carpet cleaning solution so I can steam-clean myself instead of having it hired out!

I have to go to the grocery store tomorrow...dreading that!

Gonna be saving money here on fresh veggies since now the garden is coming in.

For breakfast we ate some of our hens eggs.

Made some very yummy egg salad for lunch with some of our duck eggs.

Put clothes out on the line... (I have read that you could save up to 60-70 dollars a month hanging out your clothes...Depending on how much you wash)

It's difficult for me...but I'm refraining at the end of the day of just throwing all our cloths in the laundry...some clothes can be worn again before washing...bad habit of mine...

I have some bread baking in the oven for the morning....

Mashed potatoes with a non electric masher....

I put my son on the bus in the mornings, instead of using the gas to take him to school.
made extra baked penne last night and will freeze it for a dinner on another night.
ripping up my huge pile of newspaper to line all the nest boxes, instead of buying another bail of straw or cube of shavings.
gonna give the chickens cayenne in their food, to help fend off worms if they are a problem, instead of a commercial chemical.
drying sage today, to save $$ from buying it at the store

Ate venison sausage and eggs for breakfast .Picked up four windows at the dump before a guy tossed them in the dumpster. Future coop windows of course. Switched to pellet layer instead of crumbles...my girls waste too much crumbles.

sounds heavenly......

took out home made yogurt from setting, made fresh goat cheese with this morning milk - will use as ricotta in baked pasta tonite, having eggs for breakfast.. but sure could use some of that sausage...

also used last nites 'stormy' milk (milked in 2 mins flat in a big storm) to make 'cereal' for chickens - crushed corn + milk = happy chickens

here is what i'm doing to WASTE money today - forgot something in town and have to drive the big ol' truck back in.....grumble grumble grumble....

well I saved money yet again today

I did my own acrylic nails with a set that I had bought like 2 years ago that still had everything i needed.
I sun bathed instead of paying for tanning minutes or spray tan.
and now I am drinking water from the tap (we have a well) instead of drinking up the softdrink in the frig that I would rather have.

yay me! lol
