What have you repurposed while building ?

I love mother Earth news one of my favorites. For about three years now I have been planting my potatoes and trash cans or 5 gallon bucket’s or just about anything I can find that’s large enough and a number two or number five plastic. That way in the end I just kick it over and have my potatoesI’ve seen the tire thing before but all of my old tires go to my pigs. They love dragging them around and using them as pillows. They’re a little strange

I used to tether my Angoras goats to tires; kept them from going very far should they happen to get though the electric fence, which always seemed to be shorted out.

I’d have to use a really big tired to tether my boer goats. Lucy means business. Thankfully I don’t have to

Not related to building, but I repurposed plastic grocery bags and crocheted this little bag for my lunch when I was commuting. I made a larger bag for my mom that she uses for her knitting. Currently collecting yellow and white bags for a larger one for myself.

I also upgraded my shopping cart. Finishing attaching the panels now. Pardon the towel, it's the dogs.

Not related to building, but I repurposed plastic grocery bags and crocheted this little bag for my lunch when I was commuting. I made a larger bag for my mom that she uses for her knitting. Currently collecting yellow and white bags for a larger one for myself.

Ha ha. I can see the dog picking around the corner to. Somebody once a long time ago made me a hat made out of pplastic bags like that. But to make that cart. That is awesome! Even when you use reusable shopping bags we still somehow always end up with a ton of plastic bags. Great use for them

Yeah, them and those air-filled plastic cushions Amazon uses for filler/shock absorbers. Someone needs to come up with a use for them.

I have a great use for those. I wait till my daughters coming around the corner and then I stomp on it and scare the crap out of her It never gets old

Mother Earth News is a great resource. I saw a story in there about a guy who built one wall of his house out of plastic soda bottles, with caps, he'd stockpiled. He filled the bottles with water, then stacked them like cord wood, concreting the voids between bottles. When finished, he had a wall that allowed plenty of light in, a heat sink from the water, and kept hundreds, if not thousands of plastic bottles out of landfills.

I like the stacked compost bin with the milk crates. Put a bit of a side liner in them, and it would make a great multi level vermiposting bin.

Love the crochet plastic bags. I never have enough of those. Am currently out of them. B/C of my need for them, I never take fabric bags to the stores.

That wall would be great till it's not. Eventually, that plastic will degrade due to UV! Then what? But, I love the idea.
