The entire exterior, not the bones or the floor, is fence panel wood treated with Thompson's Water Seal. We need to fix that window flap, but other than that, it's holding up pretty well.

You can't really see it, but the pen in front here is made out of an old door and some chicken wire. I'll get better images once I find them.

Thank you. my husband is a carpenter and can make anything out of wood or scraps. Btw I'll have to find the picture of my other 2 helpers(ages 6 and 2) they were excited bc I let them rake the coop. Lmao.

Don't ya love Leftovers. Lol the turkeys sure do. landscape timbers, metal roofing from a house my husband just built , and tree limbs that used to smack him while riding the tractor.

When my daughter was young she used to love to clean the shelters and do everything to help with them. She still helps but it’s more of me forcing her to. Got a love when they turn into teenagers right. LOL

I used mostly recycled everything for my coop but the thing that I think most useful to pass on?

Rain gutter guards.
They are great for ventilation because they are strong and don't rust. About 6" wide and however long you cut them; I think they come in 6 foot lengths.

I can make a lot of stuff out of wood scraps but I can’t guarantee look awesome. I bought a trailer full of scrap wood from a job site home one time and I thought my husband was going to lose his mind he was so angry that we had that big pile of scrap lumber. I think he’s happy now after we were able to frame all the walls for the 8 x 12 coop we just built with it. Like I said I try not to rub it in his face to bad. I am currently taking the shorter pieces we cut off and building them a little front porch. Just because I’m a dork
