What have you repurposed while building ?

I have three cats but they’re usually outside so I get a fair amount of those containers still. That’s why I was thinking about using one of those containers to convert. Seems like it would be easier. I use mine sometimes to carry down a small amount of wood chips for bedding nests or to carry their feed down from the shed to their coop. And you could look at the bottom and see what type of plastic it is and if it’s the right type you could clean it out real well and probably plant potatoes in it after drilling holes in the bottom or use it as a planter

This is not repurposing, but this little product is IMO the most brilliant use for metal that I've come across in a very long time. I love cattle panels. They can be used for just about anything: arbors, trellises, chicken coops, green houses. There is a thread on BYC dealing with the use of cattle panels. Their use is only limited by the imagination. They are practically indestructible and will never wear out. These little hinges make connecting them at any angle super easy:

Mother Earth News several years ago ran an article about growing potatoes in stacked-up tires. as the plants get taller you just keep adding tires & dirt. I've not tried it, but I'm guessing that come harvest time you just tear down the "tire tower" and all your potatoes are right there, no digging.

I love mother Earth news one of my favorites. For about three years now I have been planting my potatoes and trash cans or 5 gallon bucket’s or just about anything I can find that’s large enough and a number two or number five plastic. That way in the end I just kick it over and have my potatoesI’ve seen the tire thing before but all of my old tires go to my pigs. They love dragging them around and using them as pillows. They’re a little strange

Not related to building, but I repurposed plastic grocery bags and crocheted this little bag for my lunch when I was commuting. I made a larger bag for my mom that she uses for her knitting. Currently collecting yellow and white bags for a larger one for myself.

I also upgraded my shopping cart. Finishing attaching the panels now. Pardon the towel, it's the dogs.

We don't usually do potatoes but if we do this is how we do it. Works pretty good!
