That might be a good idea. Either place should have it.Since the “procedure” (LOL) I’ve already started wondering if I need to somehow procure a vial of penicillin or something from rural king/tractor supply?

And guys, I absolutely appreciate the feedback, even when it’s pointing out that I totally botched the whole position of the duck thing. Admittedly, I thought it was okay because I saw some guy on YouTube who has a pet Pekin and they lay it on its back to do various things (blow dry, vacuum lol). That’s absolutely my fault and I do agree I probably suspected I shouldn’t have based on the sheer, and immediately noticeable, change in her breathing.
And for each and every one of you; thank you. From the bottom of my heart , and the heart of my little 9 year old daughter, we’re absolutely appreciative. We’re great students and while she’s a handful, she’s exceptionally loving and loyal to animals.
We are your sponges.
Plus because I spent countless hours trying to find a picture that WASNT pimple related to which I could compare this... and cam up empty handed.... I can’t help but feel like we’re all going to be part of some knowledge-ice-breaking-learning-experience![]()
Hey You are doing your best for this duck that's all anyone can ask![]()
If she were mine I would gently pluck all the feathers inside this red circle. If you can, do that and post new pictures.

I was about to tag her also. . what about some aloe Vera? Would that be ok to use?
Yes, just plucked, *not* cut.Just to confirm, you want plucked, not cut, correct?
Either way, once you confirm, I will do that but is it okay to do it tomorrow? I was thinking of letting her be until then. I can do anything, and will do everything, as needed.
ETA: is there anything I can do to the skin/feathers in that area that will reduce the pain or make it less plucky for her?
Yes, just plucked, *not* cut.
Tomorrow is fine.
Pluck slowly and gently in the direction the feather grows. Plucking them one at a time doesn't seem to bother them.
Okay, here are mine. Keep in mind that mine was most likely from a puncture and it was in the breast muscle, but treatment would be the same I think, which is remove all nasty stuff, flush, wrap and start antibiotics.
