They are all going to be together eventually right?

Oh yes! I’m already bummed as could be that the Cayugas couldn’t be with the Swedes. I didn’t think (didn’t know) that 7 days is such a HUGE difference in size. But, also, having the little hiccup we’re having with the Cayugas (Itty Bitty) I don’t know that it would’ve only been size to present an issue :(

Okay, so I’m still just all tizzied about poor Itty Bitty (I don’t know if I should continue to post here or return to my original crusty eye post?)

I *think* I’ve determined that she has an underbite on her beak/bill and potentially lackluster nares?

I’ve confirmed via 100% observation of a sink time clean up bath (to get the food off of her) the she positively does not dunk her head under the water for blowing nares, splashing water on to her body or anything. Her nares look insanely insufficient (too small maybe?) and yes she’s a bit crooked in the beak with an underbite.

I’m continuing the NutriDrench but I know I can’t change physics.

What should I be thinking right now?

I’ll love her mildly crooked beak with underbite bill and I’ll love her tiny nares. But how is this going to affect her health/life quality/life expectancy?

It is an underbite but she is eating okay right? I don't think that will cause her problems unless as she grows it gets a lot worse. But you can give her a deeper bowl so she can scoop. As for her nares as long as she is breathing okay not much you can do about that. Hopefully she is a little slow and she'll see her sissy doing head washing and things and she'll learn from example. She doesn't really look sick from what I can see.

I don't understand why we get some alerts and not others.

I have no idea (re: alerts) but I too have had instances where I’ve not received alerts on something and it was only when I revisited the thread that there’d been activity.

Little one has officially gotten a name:

Little Bit

I know, I know, SUPER original but it fits, it’s cute and it is what Grumpy picked. The Cayugas were his breed choice so he got dibs on names. Still no name (yet) for the sister Cayuga but he says he’s thinking on it so we’ll see something soon.

As for Little Bit: Other than being what appears to be mouth breathing, and obviously dainty, she’s not had any symptoms going on. I just worry. And then when I continue to monitor them (like today) and I never see her dunk her head or nares into anything, I worry what the long term effects will be.

She and sister Cayuga have been running up a storm in their tote and Little Bit keeps up so that was very pleasing to see. And I would *almost* sweat she’s gotten an ounce bigger overnight. She’s still growing, just very much on the slower scale (so far).

Also update on OG- I did her wipe and swipe today and there appeared to still be good healing vibes because nothing looked worse for wear despite Patty’s inevitable return to her role of FattyPattyRaperMcRaperton.

Patty is willing to let OG Mount (flattening several times to her) but OG just isn’t about it I suppose. So Patty, having all that loving to give, is just like “welp, okay, YOU take the love then.”

So amorous these waterfowl are LOL
