So far the hose has worked wonderfully. I have noticed that Patty has not attempted to mate OG and I’m attributing that to the panty hose. Whether it’s because OG can’t properly present herself with it on or maybe Patty is put off by the oddity of it, it’s worked for wings AND hump prevention. She’s also not been getting herself wet/preening like any other day would present. Again, presuming it’s because she can’t flap her wings around all Willy Nilly.
So, barring any as-yet-seen complications, I’m a HUUUUGE proponent of panty hose.

I’ve got the littles in the run with the two big girls (separated of course) and this is day 2. I’m going to do this every day from here until I’m comfortable they’ve accepted each other. And I figure if it takes a month of introductions, then so be it. Bigger Bit and Little Bit are only about 3 weeks and the 4 big turkeys are nigh on a month old. So I know I have time. But I wanted to get them outside where it’s beautiful and we can start the slow introductory phase. I’ll post pics sometime today

Pics aren’t the greatest but here’s some updated pics on the little duckies (plus one of our pantyhosed Pekin)

The 4th photo (again, blerg) has little bit in the middle. She continues to be a dwarf in comparison but she *IS* growing.

In fact, today I noticed her underbite has seemed to have corrected itself!

So glad introductions were going well! I disappeared for a bit and it looks like you have too, hopefully for happy reasons! Hope all is well, everybody looks good as of your last update they grow up so fast! That's great to hear little bit is growing and her bill has corrected itself!

Hey guys! I’m sorry I hadn’t updated in a bit... as you guys mentioned, there’s just SOOO much to do during this time of year. And that’s to say nothing of the fact we’re only in our first spring here on he homestead and are spending lots of time trying to reclaim the land.

OG is doing very well. The scab went to about 1-2” thick, as it seems to keep doing, but it came off somewhere between Thursday and Saturday morning. She’s out of the pantyhose and has been for a touch over a week. Had to do it prematurely (so to speak) because the pantyhose had rubbed a raw ring around her neck. I didn’t want to risk an infection (when we’re so close to done!) so I took it off and have just kept our fingers crossed, tried TJ limit Patty humping sessions and just observing.

Little Bit is doing SPECTACULARLY!

To hurry this update along, and to boast my beautiful girls like a proud duck momma, I went out and took two short video updates so you could see the magic. Also including a pic of the remaining scab on OG’s former-pit-of-pitiful-doom... presuming we keep her from popping it open before it heals, we should be golden going forward.

X2!! they look great babies almost as big as your 2 adults!! So happy OG is finally on the mend.

We’re at the vet for her (hopefully last) appointment. Her thick hard scab had fallen off a few weeks ago and it’s just the typical looking scab a person would have after falling off their bike or something.

Other than her continued limp (which I will ask for an X-ray) she’s been doing great. Shedding her feathers that got messed up with the pantyhose and keeping the flock mates in line.
