What is a good snack for ducks

See I have a old shoe box and a ramp so should I make a nest with soft grass

Something absorbent and easy to clean would probably be better like toilet paper or newspaper ducklings poop a lot lol

I use pine shavings. I have used straw. Hay can get a little moldy. I have also put sawdust pellets under shavings, with a little straw on top.

I think anything paper might get kind of gummy. And mine would try to eat it. At the same time, decomposed is absolutely right about absorbent and easy to clean!

They like eating cardboard, too. Silly ducks.

My ducks like to make their own nest areas - mine really like corners.


I screwed a 2'x2' piece of plywood at 90 degrees to the wall. They love corners.

Just watch the ducks a bit, they give a lot of clues about what they like and what will work. Before I decided on a nest box, I found this in the pen.



In the corner, they made their own nest.
