I love the blue color in poultry. When it comes time to renew my flock (which won't be for a couple of years), I'm seriously considering these. I like Blue Andalusians, but my wife prefers brown-shelled eggs. In the past I've had blue runner and blue Swede ducks as well. I have two beautiful blue Cochin hens but I got them purely for their beauty, as they aren't particularly practical. These Sapphire Gems sound like a great option.

The Chick Hatchery and Valley Hatchery also have this breed and they do show pictures of the roosters. They are kind of hard to describe in words.

Anyone know how to tell the difference between the pullets and cockerels? I assume since they are sex-links their colours will be different as chicks.

That's a good question. I was told by the man i bought them from they were all pullets so assuming he wasn't lying I would say the females look like the one in my pic...maybe
