Thank you all for this thread. It has been very helpful in learning about this breed. I just picked up 3 Sapphire Gems at TSC on Friday. So far I am loving their very sweet temperments. I was burned last spring with all roosters so I thought I would stay safe with sex-link pullets. Though I hear that may not always be the case with this particular breed. Here are my girls. Gem (may not be very original but really fits her). Jazz (short for Jasmine is very spunky and if one turns out to be a roo I would bet on this one). And Penny short for penguin because that is exactly what she looks like to me.
And i cant say for certain the ring isn't just dipped in gold. But I'm assuming it's pure. So there you are correct. As for our bodies, they emit energy...as does every other substance on Earth. We are constantly reacting to our environment whether we realize it or not. I don't know what the science behind the gold ring test is (if there is any at all) but I suspect it has to do with energy. I can assure you that at the very least, both the chick and ring are emitting their own unique energy. I suppose those could somehow interact. But that's above my understanding
