Common confusion as there are birds sold as "sapphires" that do lay blue, so sapphire gem is easy to mix up with thatAw I'm disappointed I thought they laid blue eggs.![]()
The white 'Sapphire' breed lays blue eggs. Personally, I think it's dumb that they named these a name another breed shares in part...why confuse people? :/Thank you Grey Mare. I thought it was like Olive Eggers, that lay olive eggs.
They are supposed to produce a good amount of eggs. They are made by breeding blue Plymouth rock and a barred rock together and most people on here love barred rocks so they will probably have a good temperament. They are relatively new still so I’m not sure if anyone has one at pol yet.OK so these are pretty birds but what I really want to know is if they make good pets? I only have room for about 4 pullets and I am trying to pick pretty birds that make good pets, are decent layers, and Oh, yeah, are available at my local rural king, since their chicks are CHEEEEEP
