I'm sure there is probably more to each list that I am forgetting to add, and of course there's her words for agility obstacles and such
Imagine how I forgot to put heel in her commands🤦‍♀️ I use heel when I want a focused heel and let's go for just a free walk.

I've missed several pages (will catch up later) but I just realized a couple extra commands my dogs know but not sure I consider them "basic" ...

Go away, for when I'm trying to cook and Sammy is being a shark under my feet hoping I will drop something edible .... or if I'm trying to eat my lunch and he's staring at me like a ghoul. He knows I never share!

Move, for when he's lying in front of a cupboard or refrigerator I need to get into ....

Out, meaning go outside, like when he's barking at something outside and making me crazy because if he really wants to protect me he should go out there and do battle with it, right? Instead of yelling at me to call 911 ....

Enough, for when I've been petting him and now I'm done. Done, I say!

Let's see.

Hup, to jump up on or in something, like into the car, up the stairs, or on top of anything.

Kennel, to get into his kennel.

Off. Self-explanatory. (Get off whatever he's on top of.)

Go home. Self-explanatory.

This is fun! I'll have to make a complete list to see how extensive Sammy's vocabulary is. I just finished reading a book called Chaser, about a Border Collie that knew 1,022 (I think) distinctive nouns, plus a plethora of verbs. She was an amazing dog! She also knew the difference between a direct and an indirect object - so she knew the difference between "take the cow to the train" and "take the train to the cow." Isn't that incredible?
