What is going on??

Is she pooping? If she is pooping she is not egg bound. If she was laying before but isn't egg bound, she may have just stopped because she is molting or about to molt.

That is the spot where ducks store extra fat. She may just be overweight. Does she get a lot of high fat treats like mealworms or BOSS?
No, I don't normally go for the higher fat treats for them. I think she has to be pooping, since she has been like this for a while and her behavior is the same as always. I'd assume that she would act different if she hasn't been pooping. I'll make sure to notice next time I am out with them to make sure she poops. Maybe she is just eating more than the other two ducks. Also, they all just molted very recently. So I hope she will start laying again soon. :)

Looks like her abdomen...how much are you feeding her? She is a pretty girl!(I think she is a girl)....
Thank you! Yes she is a girl. :) I feed them once in the morning a big scoop that seems to last them all day. I assume is enough for all three of them. I don't really measure it all out. Maybe she is eating more than the other two.

My twins are like this too - usually right before bed is when I notice it. Sometimes it is more prominent right before they lay an egg and sometimes I think they just eat to much.

It's not grounding them though like it did fancy! Had to clip their wings.

If she’s acting normal than I would guess she isn’t egg bound. You’d notice other symptoms by now.

Maybe she metabolizes the feed differently. Or maybe she naturally builds up a bigger reserve in preparation for winter. I notice mine start to get slightly bigger ‘belly bumps’ right as winter is starting and then slim right back down in spring. Maybe you’re in store for a long, cold winter. :barnie:gig

I think the amount you are giving them is fine. I have a little bucket and just fill it to the line...it is about 3/4 cup per duck. They eat it all and I don't give them more cuz they will get really fat if I don't(ducks put on weight fast!).

That's interesting. I haven't had any overeating problems with my ducks or chickens. I feed at night (easier with my schedule) and by the next night there is still food left. Sometimes they will finish it all but that's on days with bad weather when the chickens don't go outside. I wonder if it's because mine free range all day. Are yours in a run for all or part of the day?
