What is or has been your LONGEST/OLDEST living duck??

I have only had ducks myself that live to around the 8- 9 year mark- But I was surprised when talking to a family who came to buy some new ducks recently. There youngest daughter is now 18- but when she was two years old- she was bought a pair of ducks. The drake is still alive but the duck only recently passed away. She was blind and had athritis- but for a 16 year old cross bred duck she sure had a good life. They were concerned about getting such young littles ones again but the old drake has taken to them and welcomed their company.

My oldest duck is a Cayuga named Sally. She's going to be 9 years old in February.

This is our Sally. And she still lays eggs every other day. She's also the best broody mama I have. She'll sit on any egg I give her!

She really is! She also will raid other nests and steal their eggs if she doesn't think she has enough to sit on! I have her in with my Indian Runners. (Her eggs are easy to tell apart from the Runners) She makes her nest under one of the Runner houses and there will be times I'll catch her coming out of one of the houses with an egg in her mouth and trying to get underneath to put it with her own. She's hatched out dozens of Runner babies for me. And loves to be held and cuddled. A real gem! She's the first one I check on during these cold days because she's the oldest on our farm.

We definitely

our Sally!

My Grandfa had a ducks surviving WW1 and they carried until WW2.

Not sure what breed they were. I seen them as a kid in early 50's.

My oldest is a 12year old manderin. But the oldest documented duck I know of is a banded canvasback that was 29yrs old in America. In England a 35year old eider.

DANG!!!! This is amazing to read! Thank you all for your input, kind of allows me to get the idea how long our runner/rouen mixes will live borrowing no preditors, sickness, or weather conditions. WOW!! Seems like the "Muts" are always the healthiest and live the longest no matter rather it's mammal or bird.
