What Is So Hard To Understand.......

VERY well said!! But of course you have people out there that live in bubbles and can't seem to understand what people in the country deal with on a daily basis!!

My husband was menaced by a dog pack out in the pasture - luckily the mule ran them off! A sheriff came out to check on the complaints, the dogs went for him, and he shot them all.

Yes, my husband might have been injured or killed, due to people too lazy to take care of their own animals. It's no wonder you never see children playing outside - in the country!

Dirtsaver: I understand where you are coming from..
But let me ask you: Do you keep ALL your pets fenced in? Your dogs AND cats...if you have any?

I agree.. NO animals should be left to roam free and go into others yards...
Its a huge problem....

Our property (12 acres) is completely fenced in, except for the gate out onto the road at the end of our driveway. Very minimal tolerance is allowed for others animals coming onto the property. None of our animals have ever been out of their designated fenced areas.

What is up with owners letting their dogs roam? Don't they worry about their safety? The damage they could cause? Don't they know there are chicken owning dog haters out there like me? Okay I kid (kind of), but seriously, you never know what could happen. My animals are never out of my sight or off of my property. Period.

Good point! Sorry I missed that one!

Larry

Wrens have exploded in my yard since I started discouraging the neighbor's feral cat pack from trespassing. I still have my wreath up because a wren has taken a liking to it.

As far as our songbirds go, their worst enemy here are the wee predatory birds ~

We have sharp-shinned hawks, red tail hawks, merlin, kestrel, just for starters. ....they are fast, especially the smaller varieties!
