what is sour crop?
what are the Symptoms?
how is it fixed?

is it Contagious ??

Sour crop comes from food not moving out of the crop into the stomach and growing bad bacteria which gets absorbed into the system. It can kill a chicken. The first symptom is you can smell a very bad odor coming from the beak of the bird. You can use Alka-seltzer, 1/2 tab in a cup of water and squirting a syringe full down the throat. Also a mixture of ginger and cinnomon powder in water does wonders on the entire digestive tract and is great for slow or sour crops. No, it is not contagious.
