Hi everybody! I am a chicken person, and I have been thinking about keeping some quail for eggs. But, there are so many breeds! What are the best ones for eggs?

Oh and should I add that they start laying at a very early age usually from 6 to 8 weeks they'll stat poping them out.

They also lay a fairly large egg compared to other quail breeds. Some coturnix lay smaller end and some Jumbo end eggs.

Not only do they lay at 6-8 weeks but they hatch in only 18 days.

I have a golden hen that I hatched out almost 6 weeks ago the day befoire she was 6 weeks old she started laying she has a done an egg a day since then

I have heard they aren't productive after two years? I get a lot of ups and downs on that though when I tried to find out. Some folks kept breeders one season while others kept them for years? I have only had the coturnix 1.5 years so I have yet to know.
