I have a mini-daschund who has had two back surgeries and is in a wheel chair, and in June I adopted a large beagle who wasn't meant to be an inside dog, but has become one. The dascund doesn't shed that much, but the beagle is loosing hair by the handfull!

It doesn't bother me in most places, becuase I can vacuum it off, but it sticks right in our couch. The material the couch is made of doesn't allow it to be vacuumed off either. We had to put a sheet over the couch, and both me and my mom HATE that because it reminds us of my dad's mom.

Oh, don't even get me started on that woman! The short version is she has at LEAST 8 long haired cats in the house and a big cocker spaniel, none of wich are house trained. She even has to pack one to the litter box because it refuses to get up and walk there itself. I made the mistake of taking my shoes off once while my dad was cleaning her house, and stepped in a big puddle of pee! Anyway, she put a sheet on her couch because of the giant clumps of cat hair blowing all over the place. Needless to say, we don't want to be that woman!

I though about the Pledge Fabric Sweeper Pet Hair Remover, but something they don't tell you on the commercial is that its meant to be used only a few times, and then disposed of. You can't even empty the compartment that holds the hair! Has anyone found a way besides lint roller sheets and vacuums to get the hair off their couch?

LOL! I do that on my clothes, and people at school (highschool) will even try scotch tape around their finger when they see they have a lot of lint on their clothes. I always feel so country.

Pledge Fabric Sweeper really works, did you try it?

I bought one and use it on my microfiber couches and it makes cleanup a snap (compared to vacuuming forever or using up almost an entire sticky roller).

Edited a bunch out because I only realized after posting that you'd considered it already. oops.

You need to get a good vacuum with a pet hair attachment. Like the Dyson Animal. It has an attachment with little fuzzy hair grabber thingies on it..it works pretty darn good! And i have 3 huge dogs and 6 cats in my house..

You don't have to hide...as long as you keep a relatively clean house! LOL. I could have nightmares about the giant hair clumps being slung around by the ceiling fan at my grandmothers! I would never eat there, and they wondered why! LOL.

What exactly does the furminator do? I volunteered at a local vet clinic and one of the kennel workers said that it was a waste of money, especially on long haired dogs, because it made their hair come back even thicker. They have these brushes that work wonders on short hair dogs. I'll have to find out what they are.

i use a little rubber curry brush designed to brush short haired dogs off. Is works great for getting the hair off the couch. It worked on both dog hair and cat hair.
