Keep the egg upright and set the flashlight or candler on the large end. Do not spin or tilt the egg, move the flashlight around instead.

I would suggest that you go to the learning center and read all of "hatching eggs 101". It will help you to be as successful as possible with your hatch, and there is a section for dealing specifically with shipped eggs. I wish you the best of luck. Still readable. Information is a bit incomplete and hard to understand but someone that was willing to sit down for a bit and make sense of it could still learn loads.

Notes section from Sally's main thread has 1st priority but I believe H101 is next.
