What is the best way to hatch shipped eggs????

My shipped silkie eggs came this morning!! :) I ordered 10 & got 15!! Now I have to see if I can fit them all in my mini brinsea! Alot of the air cells look good! None are detached. Half look solid and half look a little bit wobbly. One has a small hairline crack, so if I can't fit them all that will be the first to go! I'd love to actually try to hatch that one...I do love a challenge! So, I'm going to try to not touch them for 5 days straight! Then lay them down and start turning. Do you think I should try to keep the wobbling ones in cartons? I really wish I had a bigger incubator! Anyone else setting today or tomorrow?

I just put some in the hatcher :)
Don't ya hate planning on only a cretain number and then trying to squeeze those extras in..this is why I bought my 2nd this year.. I dunno if it's an option, but you could grab a still air with no turner for about 40 bucks at Tractor Supply. .that's what I use as a hatcher and when I get extras that I don't have room for, I put the worst air cells in a carton in the hatcher so they all have a chance to start. .usually after the 1st candling, I have room in the turner and incu..
best of luck..Silkie eggs are small so you may be able to fit all or most in it..take the tray out and play around with sitting the paper towel rings so that they all fit..if worst comes to worse, sit one egg on top of 2 lower ones..I've seen lots of people stack eggs in the cooler DIY bators..at least that'd give them all a chance in case you have clears..
also you can use liquid bandaid, nail polish, wax, or the fabric part of a band aid to cover that crack

If you want a hatch along buddy let me know and I'll set some banties and reds. .I should have about 6 or 7 open spots and still have room for my peas and Tolbunts ;)
Like I need an excuse to set them..lol

Yes!! Set some with me!!! They've been sitting since 9:30am, so I like to set them at 9:30 pm (tonight), so they don't start cooling off overnight as the house cools down. HELP!...I can NOT fit them with the cartons in my brinsea. I can go buy a little giant still air at the store in my town...but do you think I can figure it out and get it constant by tonight???

Hey from NYC!
I've set some Pyncheon eggs due to hatch next wednesday/thursday. They were all shipped and had completely detached air cells "rolling air cells". They are from Stromberg's lines, which could be from various suppliers. Anyways just wanted to let you know as I will be selling the strait run chicks for $8 each as they will have been started on organic crumble and have been through some selective breeding. I often head up to Carmel NY for weekend fishing and could bring them to some public place on the way. They will also come fully child friendly and sweet, as they will be handled by my 3 kids daily.

Congrats and welcome!! I've not heard of the breed but always like learning something new so I'm sure I'll be looking them up now ;)
I'm too far away, but if you've not found it yet, you can post an ad in your state thread for some locals :)
Good luck with your hatch

Ok, I got it!! Brand new, calibrated thermometer in there. I'll put the great looking air cells in the brinsea and the wobbly guys in the still air with cartons. I went over the crack with wax. Thanks for all your help!!!!
