Well I just wrote up a reply and it vanished, so if this shows twice ignore one..
But, this is my recommendation. .
as soon as your shipped eggs arrive and reach room temps, stick them in the incubator, do not turn or turn on auto turner until the end of day 3. .
set them upright during hatch (I've tried both and much better success this way)..
I use paper cartons, and I tear them down until it's just basically a circle just enough to support the egg.. I've also used toilet paper/paper towel rolls cut down (think easter egg holder)..those are great if you're short on space as you can put individual eggs wherever. ..

Jumping late into this thread, but am glad I found it! I unhooked my auto-turner as it was rocking them for about the first16 hrs and of course, the above mentioned cut-out egg carton....so I'll see what they all look like on Day 3.Have 7 Welsummers and 9 Blue Wheaten!
Good luck, I recommend reading this, if you haven't already. Don't be nervous about not turning them. I go 5 days and had great development.

I've got two orders of silkie eggs coming in. One 20+ the other 6+. My question, do you tilt all eggs besides the ones with detached cells or treat correct ones normally.
Thanks, got the 20+ eggs yesterday and all aircells intact. Was marked live embryos, so guess it was handled more gently.
