What is the purpose of raising quail?

Quail are delicious - - and if you go for the jumbos you can get a bird that dresses out up near a pound. . . not just breast meat and a scrap or two of leg like the smaller ones.

They also mature extremely quickly, and can provide a quick return on investment.

I was debating as to whether or not to get boring looking quail or pretty ones. I think I might have a harder time dispatching the pretty ones.
