What is this???? HELP Please with PICS

It looks like an old injury that has scabbed over and is trying to heal

I would soak her in a water soapy bath. Once she is good and clean see if you can tell if it is an old wound trying to heal or something else that may have ruptured.

Clean the wound site well using diluted betadine or saline in a squeeze bottle you can aim at the area to rinse it.

It looks very dry to me in the photo. I would coat the area in Blu Kote to seal it.

Blu Kote is antifungal, antibiotic, antiviral type medications used for horses. If you use for a chicken you aren't supposed to later slaughter the chicken for food.

I would offer her some extra protein and a vitamin/mineral supplement to help promote healing.

I don't think it's a bot fly.
Bot flies lay their eggs on the hairs of horses' eggs (although they can also lay eggs directly under the skin of animals as well, yes, including people). The horse rubs its' nose or licks & the egg is swallowed & hatches out in the intestines & burrows to the surface of the skin, where is makes a hard knot called a "warble".
The old-timers used to put an empty coke bottle over the warble & strike the end to make the larvae pop out. Otherwise, it will eventually come out on its' own.

Anyway, I agree that your hen looks like it has some sort of proud flesh forming from an infected area. I'd wash it really well & dose it good with gentian violet or something like that. If it looked pus-like maybe start her on a round of antibiotics.

Which sounds like you've done that & washed your hands good afterwards, so keep it up & see what happens.

I'm not sure about the staph (whether you can get it or not) but I'd treat it like I could catch it, just in case.

And maybe isolate her from the rest of the flock.

She also has an injury unser one of her wings I tried to get a pic but she was not that excited to have me pulling at her again. It looks swollen and inflamed and bleeding nothing like what I pictured in my first post.

I will try and get her to let me take pics of it and try to get her in solitary again.

when i butchered not that long ago there was one that looked exactly like that on one of the birds and after we cleaned the chicken we pulled it out adn it was like a piece of wood, like a sliver that got dirty and had almost overgrown itself trying to get the foreign object out.

I'm going to throw out another possibility. Last year I read on here something similar to what you showed, and it turned out that when she cleaned it out, it was an infected, ingrown feather.......

Just another thought. I'm sure you can Pry a little out and see what follows...yuk.

Take the advice of Miss Prissy & Spotted Crow to wash well, treat, & keep us posted!

You may need to quarantine this hen for a while to prevent picking by other birds.
