What is this insect? Warning: Close-up shot of big bug!!

Okay, guys -- what is this insect? It was between 5"-6" long and has pincers on its head, six legs, lacy black and white wings, long antennae...rather aggressive when nudged gently with a stick. I have *never* seen something like this in Michigan before.

and....its a dobson fly which is the larval stage of a helgermite....we use helgermites for fish bait.

is it an assasin bug? Im just kinda guessing I picked up a assasin bug during our state xc meet and everyone sorta freaked out saying it was gona get me.
