What is this?!!

I was going it was chalaza, but this thing was not squishy. It was kind of hard, like plastic. You can see, it’s hollow, like a tube. I was baking a cake and it fell in the batter! I saw it as I cracked the egg
 
To me it looks like an extra bit of membrane rather than a chalaza. Definitely not a worm. Sometimes membrane is formed into tubes rather than the more round egg shape and you occasionally see them like that when hens are laying soft shelled eggs. Do you have any new layers? You are more likely to get such abnormalities with young birds whose systems haven't ironed out all the glitches and got into a smooth operating system. It is just one of the many abnormalities that naturally occur with eggs but that most people don't see because commercial eggs are screened. It is a little surprising that even on a site where people keep chickens and should be more aware of natural variation, some people are still grossed out.
