What is this?

I'm not a northie, and I'm not a southie.... I can sing the battle hymn of the republic and whistle dixie at the same time... doesn't sound like much, but I can do it ;)...

Anyway I think that apparatus is what you use to skim ice from your icehole, when you're sitting in the cold hoping to catch a fish

edit:
my guess for why you are using it:
to skim the bugs off your barrel of homemade wine?
You got it,,, I missed this....

I use it to skim ice off the sap buckets in the morning.. the ice is water so saves me boiling it off.

Where are we at?

Has this been guessed a

t yet?

I'm pretty sure it's an egg scale, as I recognize that part of it.... but I don't understand the electric? ...

The "box" on top with the wires going in has me a bit stumped unless there is something missing there that had the egg sizes on it and was back lit?.. which the more I think about it makes sense.. because I don't see a way to read the scale otherwise?

The wires running into the bottom and the hole on the side makes me think there is a fan or light bulb in there... if a bulb maybe for candling... if a fan, then :idunno

You are correct....

I assume it gives a light for the weight and it looks like a candling port on the bottom too.
