Yup! It's kind of a lost practice but it is still done. A neutered cockerel is called a capon. They tend to be less aggressive, fatter, little to no crowing, and the comb will cease to grow. The testicles are inside the bird. It can be done with or without anaethesia. I THINK this is a capon.
