What is this?

Maybe I'll just stroll up behind Big Blue when he's doing this:

... and I can reach his butt feathers just fine

this would work on the tail section if you do it real real fast

I bet that would be exciting... rocket powered peas...

Big Blue isn't in any hurry. About his favorite thing to do these days is wave his train and stand there while the hen grooms the underside of his tail feathers and wings. He's a happy boy.

The hen and the opal SP had their necks so intertwined grooming yesterday, it looked like they were doing tango dips.

Okay, I'm totally picturing this, it's great.

However I noticed yesterday evening that the male pea who sleeps on the floor now stretches just about from one side of the bird house to the other with his spiffy new train.  All three of the males are looking quite dapper and elegant, with the longest trains they have ever had.  Nobody's gonna fit in a milk crate, pillow case, or even a dog crate...  and I have what I think is the largest wire dog crate made :lau   (And their trains still aren't as long as Zaz's birds yet... but the oldest are only coming 4.)

I think I'm gonna have to go with the salting the dust bath with Sevin version...

Sorry lol I was thinking & talking chickens. I just stand the chicken on the milk crate. When they're off the ground a bit, they behave a bit better. Definitely would be hard to do that with a pea fowl. In the dusting area sounds much better for you situation, lol

Good luck, gardenpea!! Grab that long tail, have your powder puff ready and be prepared for some rolling around in pea poo!!!! :lol:

Oh, and if they are like Angel they won't come within 15 feet of you again for at least 3 months!

And make sure to get @PeaLover130 to capture the whole thing on video for the rest of us!

@ChickenLady2014 , I just grab my peas, restrain them, sit down on a step stool and dust. Of course it's hardest to do when the boys have their trains, but it is doable.
