What is wrong with feeding chickens meat?

I feed them meat too. THey love fighting over a leftover lambchop or two (turns out I don't like lambchops--so the chickens were pleased)

yup mine like left over pork, hot dogs, hamburger;the dogs get the steak though.

I think the reason not to compost meat has to do with the fat content that turns rancid and interrupts composting mechanism.

Ok so is this good for any chicken, whether we use them for meat, eggs or good company? My husband is still not convinced, anybody have any good arguments to make?

Chickens eat bugs & small critters, naturally. THey are birds. Birds eat bugs & stuff.

A little bit of meat helps replace what protien they are missing out on --when they cant occasionally pounce on a small rodent.

Yep, mine like meat, too. They loved the chopped up pork roast leftovers I gave them, and chicken, as well.
