What is your chicks' favorite treat?

my chickies love:

meal worms (they are addicted to those things)
lettuce (especially the ones we planted in the veggie garden)
papaya
goji berries
blueberries
strawberries

I think mine are afraid of new things but they love yogurt and oatmeal, and apples, and plain old grass.

Boiled eggs mashed finely with potato masher. Have to devide it on several paper plates. Feeding frenzy! Watch your fingers!

is it ok for them at only a week old to be eating food like this? i would think they would have to be much older

I recently got my very first chicks. They range from 2.5 weeks old to 1 week old. Is this too young to start giving treats? I've already noticed some runny poops and the youngest chick seems very lethargic. Was thinking about trying some yogurt this weekend????

I beat the crud out of that Kix cereal, so it's like dust-fine. Then , I add a touch of yogurt to it, and they go CRAZY!

Everyone has to decide what they're comfortable with. I know some people treat chick starter like it's baby formula and they won't give anything but for a certain period of time. That's fine too.

I have 3, 4, & 5 week old chicks. They eat a ton of their medicated feed and as long as they keep eating it I will give them treats. I have been giving them treats for at least two weeks now. They have grit, either sand or chick grit, available at all times. We didn't start feeding treats until one night we were cleaning the brooder and 2 stinkbugs flew in and the chicks went CRAZY!!

So, we got some crickets at pet store and they loved them and went nuts again!

As soon as u walk up to their brooder now they rush to the side and wait to see if they r getting a treat. They r so adorable!

So far they have eaten:
stinkbugs
crickets
random bugs that have flown into brooder
hard boiled egg smashed up
grass
yogurt with their chick crumbles on
worm (BF cut it into pieces

and they loved it!)

I have a question about giving them oats. Can u give them quick oats like u would use to make cookies? I don't know what rolled oats r! LOL
