What is your chicks' favorite treat?

We are having the same reaction with the watermelon we just put in the brooder. So far they have just looked at and one went over and gave it a peck, then they all went for a walk!
They are the goats of the bird family!

Baby chicks go nuts for mashed boiled egg! And bigger birds love any kind of pasta, especially chopped spaghetti . I fed some of the chickens spinach today, they gobbled it down and were looking for more.:-D

Mine don't have a single favorite. They go crazy over grit, grass, eggs,(fried or boiled) cooked potatoe peels, broccoli and rven there starter.

Mine must be afraid of new things--they wanted nothing to do with yogurt or the oats!! Silly girls. I'll be trying hard-boiled egg and grapes this week. Looking forward to the reactions!

My girls have come around over the last few days, and I now have them eating scratch or sunflower seeds out of my hand. They are still a little weary of my wife.

Everybody's favorite in my house is the baby dandelion leaves that I pick from my yard (I do not have my lawn treated with anything). I put a dandelion flower in there today and the older ones loved it.

They also love rolled oats and yoghurt.

Mealworms are a big hit with the older ones. The chicklets haven't figured out what they are yet.

Cabbage is a favorite. I grate it up really small for the infants.

But what a blast to watch them eat. Who knew that chickens dining could be so incredibly entertaining?

My chicks turned up their noses to mashed up boiled egg. They go absolutely crazy for grit and the dirt in their dirt bath.
