Just be aware that you may only get 2-3 years of egg laying from the sex-links. After that you could be feeding hens that don't or rarely lay or having to cull to make room for more. A lot of the commercial operations that use sex-links for their layers, replace their laying flock every year. They get chicks every spring and cull the previous year's flock in the fall when the chicks start to lay. Sex-links were bred for production and not longevity which is why I suggested Black Australorps in addition. They are great layers, calm, quiet, and were originally bred to be dual purpose.
