Brahmas should have pea combs, and I do believe these munchkins are single-combed. Not only that, but you wouldn't find something as rare as a Blue Brahma at TSC (do they even exist in the US?:lol:). My guess also goes to Blue Cochins. :)

Crap, I noticed the comb the first time I looked. :gig.
So probably not brahmas. But I still don’t feel they are cochins either. But I defer. You all are more likely to be correct than me. I thought I was getting better at this game.

So tell me...why do these light brahmas look blue? (And a lot like her chicks, except for the combs)

I totally understand....their leg feathering is indeed quite sparse for Cochins! ;) I'm sure the answer could lie within the fact these babies are hatchery quality. :)

Light Brahma young (from what I've seen) are generally more two-toned - dark, grizzled gray with light cream faces/breasts.

Not an expert opinion on breeds, but, gosh, they are cute! I have both Brahma and Cochin. Mine are super sweet! I'm am very new to the world of chicken husbandry, but I do know that my white Cochin had similarly feathery feet at that age. Can't see any feet now, though! All covered with fluffy fancy pants! My fave breed this far. Granted, I am only a few months in, but I do love my Cochin!

Love my cochins too! Mine are bantams. Did you get bantam or large fowl? Beware, they are super broody and love to procreate. Chicken math is real. I probably have 70 bantam cochins now. I only wish they were better at making girls instead of so many cockerels! Lol

Hopefully @Fussellerienne777 will post some more pics as they grow out. :)

I have standard. But those bantams are the cutest little balls of feathers! I only have girls, and I haven't experienced the broodiness yet. I have only pullets at this point because I am terrified of chicken math - haha! If I get more comfortable with the girls I have, I may consider more.

Waiting for my husband to come around to my way of thinking. He's hilarious, though. We just added more to the run, and he is already talking about expanding it even more. And yesterday, I came home from work to find that he'd built them a new perch in the run and had taken a lawn chair into the run and was sitting with them. Two were in his lap!

Here they are today...they still aren't as puffy as other cochins Ive seen ...they aren't bantams I know that. And they love to stand up tall and talk to me lol.
