What kind of Cochin are these!?

Usually the ones that I buy that are more feathered are Cockerels. Cockerels always grow faster than pullets in most cases. I've been buying chicks for 5 years almost and I try to avoid the straight run bin because I absolutely hate rehoming a cockerel due to their temperament. Some are great and some are just plain nasty no matter what you do.

Just watch for comb reddening and see if wattles are developing faster. Around 12 weeks they start crowing and it sounds like a dying seal :gig

Interesting! I only went for straight run because at this time I don’t have any roosters! So if I get one I’ll be ok with it. I lost my silkie rooster recently and that thing was a monster to me! So I’m ready! :pop
