what kind of demon bird is this

I've hated Mockingbirds since I was a kid. I used to let my pet Parakeet fly around my room out of his cage occasionally...well, one day I opened my door, and he flew out of my door and my brother had left the back door open...so out the back door he went

It all happened so fast, and I was only like 12 years old. I spent days outside looking up in the trees...I could hear my birdie calling to me, I just couldn't see him. Then, after days of this, I finally saw a stupid Mockingbird fly away singing my bird's song.

I'm all grown up now, and I guess I don't really hate Mockingbirds...but they always remind me of that sad time.

I have a pair in the yard now that have just fledged 3 babies. Mom and Dad with sit on the roof of the house, shed or coop just to keep an eye on what is happening around the babies. My cats have learned to keep low and close to larger objects that block the birds attack.

Just be glad you don't have a pair of Blue Jay with a nest. They would be attacking you too!!

I agree, definitely a mockingbird! My cat killed a fledgling that had fallen out of its nest and I had a full scale attack on my hands - not just the parents, the whole mockingbird community came after her. She had several puncture wounds on her poor head. Had to keep her inside for a few days.

In Australia we have Mynor Birds, their are 2 species of them and they are really annoying. One species is native its called the Noisy Mynor and it is noisy and the real nusance is the Indian Mynor bird wihich isn't native. They have big flocks of around 20 or more(Like seagulls) and they drive other native birds out of the area, its gotten that bad that they have now said its alright to cull the Indian Mynors because they are to dominant and they are scaring of all the native birds. We have noisy mynors where I am and they annoy the birds and any animal around especially cats, they all come down squarking their heads off and surround the cat and keep this sqwarking up untill they have intimidated the cat enough that it runs for cover.

This is an Indian Mynor, they are the worst

The noisy mynor make all different noises. In spring when they have their babies all you can here out side in cheep cheep cheep but they do it reallly loudly and it gets so annoying.

here is an example of the noises they make

Perhaps he killed something and the mockingbird is holding a grudge? I love cats, but something about a small bird chasing and terrorizing one makes me cheer. Cats are responsible for so much damage to bird populations, I have no pity for one having to duck and cover now and then from an aggressive mockingbird

Your cat is just going to have to get his act together and figure out that he needs to lay low for awhile. Poor baby

I love my Mockingbird, Casa. He has been sitting on the roof of my house for 4 years....well not the whole time
