I just lost my 2 shelties (heart and seizures). They were some of the best dogs I have ever owned or met.

I currently have a rescue border collie whippet named Zoey.
Once she unloads all of her baggage she will be able to live up to her awsome potential. Great dog with kids and I found out over the weekend that she is also a great guard dog.

I also have a 1 yr old male Smooth Show Collie waiting for me when I graduate from school in Oct. At that time I can take over ownership and start showing him.

I also have experiance with astrailian shepherds and cattledogs. Both are also great dogs if you have the time for mental and physical stimulation.

We have 2 Black Lab mixes. The male we aren't sure what the mix is but it seems he may have some Pit in him. He is very energetic and playfull. He just wants to chase anything that moves. We are waiting to see if he calms down as he gets older as he is stil just a pup at 8 mos. The female appears to be Blk Lab with some retriever. She is calmer and very loving and eager to please. (she is 7 mos.) They both love kids. And the olny worry we have is that they may kiss someone to death!!

When introduced to the chickens he wanted to chase them. She just kinda walked around looking then sat and calked her to the side as if she was thinking "hmm, they must be here for a reason. Wonder what they are?" It was so cute.

This is our mutt. He's between 7 and 10 years old and was severly neclected by his previous owners. I've got him now for 7 years. He's a little bit on the difficult side with behavior but I would not miss him for the world!!
He's ok with chickens but only alowed when I am around. Not to be trusted with childeren.

I was raised with a male German shepherd, he passed on.

I raised a bred 2 Huskeys, 1 male & 1 female until they passed on.

Then I got two Shih Tzu's they've passed on.

I've kept and rehomed a Sheltie, a border collie, and a Tibetan Spaniel.

Now DH and I, have two girls, a 3 legged black lab/boxer mix and a Fawn boxer rescue.

Of all the dogs I've had, I'd have to say the girl Shih Tzu and Boxer have been the best. Mostly the Boxer because of her personality.

Wow, reading over this list, I'm starting to feel old.

Coyote & Critter, I have an Aussie also - we were given this Aussie by relatives and since we did not know him well when we got our chicks, I was nervous. He kept digging them out of the little pen we had them in and we soon realized he wanted them out to protect them and so far he has been wonderful with the girls. He's great with my boys too and I think he's beautiful. Perfect addition to our little farm!!

I have an ancient demented, incontinent toothless boxer who I call oscar ( short for oscar doga hoya)

As soon as i figure out this pic posting thing i will show you all him.

WOW! There sure is variety out there. Breeds I wouldn't think of as good with chickens are ok after all. It suprises me.

We DID find out that Balto has lymphoma--in advanced stages. We are in no hurry for another dog yet, but IF the right one comes along....
My DH doesn't want anything that weighs more than he does (175 pounds).

I have found out that some of the LGD rescue groups require you to have a fence, and we do not. Since we had shelter dogs before, I'm leaning towards that. But a good ole farm dog would be great too. Thanks for listening!
