Can anyone provide any information on what type of animal droppings are shown in the above two pictures?

I want to protect my rooster and hen.

Thank you!

The look like raccoon droppings to me - maybe possum, but I'm leaning toward coon. Make sure you coop is totally secure - shut and lock all doors - make sure the locks are high enough to the coon can't reach it. Coons can pull stapled chicken wire off, or reach through it. Not wanting you to have nightmares or scare you to death, but just warnings. You can never be to safe with coons. They are smart creatures.

The rooster and hen were roaming the backyard. Later in the day, the hen screamed and when I came out, I saw the droppings. There is also a dead bird behind the shed in the backyard.

I cant tell much detail but maybe this will help you

Looks like it could be raccoon, possum or skunk but they are all similar to dog droppings so it would be hard to tell. Are foxes popular where you are at

Excert from link:

I. Racoon Droppings/Poop

Droppings usually are to be 2-3 inches long and 1/2-inch wide (kind of like a dog's) and are often filled with remnains of what they have been eating lately. For example, if they are eating corn, you will often find corn remnains in the droppings. The same occurs when they are eating fruit and other foods etc.

K. Possum Droppings/Poop

Medium to Large Size, like dog poo. Averages 3/4 inch in diameter or larger. The ends are usually tapered and the sides are usually smooth. It tends to be more curly than straight. Sometimes mold will grow on the feces.
L. Skunk Droppings/Poop

Droppings might look like those of domestic cats and will contain all types of food, from insect skeletons, to hair or seeds. Striped skunk droppings are ½ inch in diameter, usually 2 to 4 inches long, and will have blunt ends. Spotted skunk droppings are going to be similar looking, but maybe half the size.
