What Kind Of Free Rare Chick Do I Get From McMurray?

I wouldn't mind an EE.

Waiting until nearly the end of March is going to drive me crazy. I want those chicks now.

Not to sound stupid, but what breed is an EE? I'm getting chicks in early april, i ordered them from Welp Hatchery, they're supposed to have good meat birds.

EE easter eggers, they lay colored eggs green, blue, pink

oh, ok. i didn't know that they could lay colors other than green and blue. cool.

EEs aren't a specific breed but a mix of Araucana and Ameracaunas. They can be any mix of colors, with or without beards or tufts. They are bred specifically for their colored eggs.

I have ordered twice from McMurray. The first time my bonus was a Arancana rooster, the second it was a Speckled Sussex rooster. It is so much fun to try to figure out what the bonus chick is!

I never could figure out which of my chicks was my free one in my first order, because there were a few breeds in my rainbow layers that were rare. I did get a black minorca cockerel and an EE cockerel in there, but I'm not sure if one was the free rare and exotic, or just a sexing mistake.

My second order from McMurray, I got a white polish pullet (my avatar) as my free rare and exotic. She's on the back of my chair as I type, purring in my ear. I love her!

Splash andalusian is just a variety of blue. If you'll read about Andalusian blue in the McMurray catalog, it says that approximately half of their blue chicks will actually be blue, a quarter will be splash, and a quarter will be black. This is because blue doesn't breed true, and if a chick gets two blue genes, he/she will be splash. Takes one blue and one black gene to make a blue bird.

Last year, ours was a blue andalusian roo. It died 4 days later.... we also got a Delaware X EE roo in the mix.
