After seeing the difference between hatchery chickens and show chickens I am thinking of starting over..I would like to get a big, colorful (very big) docile rooster (as docile as they can be) I think I saw a ppicture of a samon favorelle Rooster that was full of color and big. What other breeds do you suggest? No BO's, BR, or SLW. Thanks for your input and pictures would be even better!

EE roos can be quite big and beautiful. This was my Oreo when we had EEs.

I love my Brahmas - they are such teddy bears!

Here's Rocky - he's 10 months old and huge.

Gadget and Gizmo - Partridge Brahmas. They are only 4 months old and are already bigger than most of my hens!

Are you wanting show birds or exhibition fowl?

My suggestions:
Speckled Sussex
Russian Orloff

Langshans aren't overly colorful...but I LOVE their personalities, temperaments and egg-laying abilities!

And that they go broody every chance they can get...grrr...

Clyde has gotten even larger and his blue son is even taller than Clyde was at the same age.

Thank you!
