What kind of shoes do you wear out to the chickens?

Tall rubber boots!

I have deep litter in my coop, and I don't enjoy the shavings getting into my shoes.

I have a rubbermaid tub of water near the house (rain filled it up with water) that I use to step into and wash my boots off before I return to the house.

Flip flops in the summer, and either rubber boots or an ancient pair of slip on "sneakers" in cooler weather. I got some crocs for that but hate them. With all those holes in there, they let your feet get too dirty. When I wear crocs out there, rain or shine, my feet end up almost as dirty as if I were barefoot.

Rubber dairy boots all year long when I leave the house to go outside. I have found this to be the most effective here with the soil and the amount of birds I keep. The geese are free range, so I don't have to worry where I walk with the rubber boots when I go into their area.

I have 3 different coops 2 with chickens & one with Bob Whites. I have a air compressor that has a real attached to my building. I simply blow my shoes off everytime I go into another coop. I even use it to blow my shoes or boots off when I enter my house. It works great. I live on a farm inside a barn so in reality I'm always walking around in dirt. There's no cement here at 7L.

I have a nasty pair of old sneakers..I call them the poop shoes. I wear them to the coop and leave them outside the back door of the house so I don't track any mud (lol, mud) in. They are so old and nasty that I don't care if they get rained on.
In the winter I have a pair of boots that I slip on, but come winter I have to bring them inside or I wouldn't find them under the snow! I have a door mat at the back door to put them on and try to wipe the boots off in the snow before entering the house with them

edit - and in the really warm days in the summer bare feet are my choice, hate it when you get poo in between your toes..lol

My crocs - they wash easy - I use them for all my garden chores like scooping dog poop too. Any mud or other things dry on them and scrape off easily and they wash easy too!

I am a chef & I use an old pair of my kitchen shoes. They are rubber, easy to slip on & off, spill proof & slip proof. Which has come in handy more times than I can count.
They are easy to clean off & since I bought them through work many years ago only cost me $30 per pair.
I leave them by the front door - no chicken yard shoes in the house.
