What kind of shoes do you wear out to the chickens?

Yard sale special light boots. I lucked out recently and got some Polo low-top boots that are pretty good sh*t-kickers. Once again, YARD SALE!!!!

I walk a lot out there and get them dirty so I need something sturdy. I'd wear cowboy work boots from the western store but they're SO expensive!!!!

Plus I have wide feet. I looked and these are men's size 5 whereas I'm actually a female size 7.5 but the mens' shoes fit perfect!!!!! (no I swear I didn't, um, get caponized at a tender young age!!!)

Flip flops and that sort of thing would last about 1 day.....there are cows here also and the associated muck around their feeding station. Cheap flip flops would just get stuck and they would be just be another piece of trash in all that!!

Husband bought me these really cool knee high rubber boots. I can shove my pant leg down into them and keep it dry! We've gotten over 40 inches of rain this year... regular shoes just weren't working. They're white with designs and birds painted on... high fashion rain boots to visit the birds.

Now I can splash in the puddles with the duckies!

Pig farmer boots. I.e., the $18 rubber farm boots from TSC. A creek runs through my place so I wear my pig farmers whenever I'm out and about--great for crossing the creek, slogging through mud, and feeding chickens!

I love those-where did you get them? I need a warm, 100% waterproof pair for going from the house to the shed and a semi-warm pair for the actual run and coop.

Hi... I usually compare between Zappos.com and Amazon.com. I got one pair from each... just looked at which had the best deal at the time. They are more expensive than what I would normally spend on boots like this.... but they do last forever, they are a snap to clean and most importantly they are water proof and very warm... besides... I found some that match my "dusty plum" Carhartt overalls!!!

well worth what I paid for them!

I have some bogs too. I have the purple lanai ones and I just love them. If you watch the sales on zappos and amazon and sign up for their email you can get coupons and discounts when they are on sale. I paid less 60 for mine including shipping.
