Hello! Just curious as to what type of spider is currently living in my dining room window! He was there about a month ago, then disappeared, and now she’s back, twice the size. He’s very weird, has yellowish bristles on his legs, is brownish, and has a black and yellow square pattern in his underside (as you can see in the pictures). What you can’t see is that he has a very hairy butt,(thorax? Idk:lau)it is covered in a lot of tan hairs.

Thanks for any help! As I said it’s not deterimental, as long as he doesn’t move his web to where the chickens could get to him, then I’d be worried. But I’m curious as to what “Lightning is! (When I first saw him he was eating a lightning bug)

I don't think it's a spider, could be a baby alien :lau
Lol, we don't get those types of spiders in Canada

Agreed!!:gig

A yucky one , I’m not a snake or spider fan .
Neither am I! As long as there’s glass in between us, I’m fine. But if they could jump onto me, or a gust of wind could knock them into me, then they are nasty and terrible! (No offense to any spider lovers!) I personally think snakes are cool, as long as they aren’t wild (with the exception of Garter (garden)snakes) and are tame! I respect your opinion though! They do give me quite the scare when one pops up in the yard! Yuck:sick:gig

:barnieI can't help you to identify it. However if you need any help with how to KILL it... Just kidding. I hate spiders, but we have garden "banana spiders" who I tolerate (and secretly even like) so long as they stay away from me.

It's an orb weaver. Does she weave a round web and stay mostly in the middle? She may take the web down and rebuild it every night. They do not wander and stay with their web. I think they're quite pretty. We had one set up her web in our hall and we treated her like a pet (no snuggles!!) It is unusual but not unheard of for them to be inside. Outside they only live 1 year but longer inside. Ours never laid eggs since there was no access to a male. (thankfully!)

It's an orb, very docile spider. I had one live on my deck for a long time and dared anybody to mess with it.
