we have quite a few popular bands that came from this area...
first and foremost are Lynyrd Skynyrd, .38 special and Molly Hatchett, i never understood why they sang about "sweet home alabama" when they're from here. I talk to them at work all the time.
also Tim McGraw, Yellowcard, Limp Bizkit, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Cold, evergreen Terrace, Shinedown (met them at work once, nice guys),Ray Charles (i never got to meet him, others i work with did)
,Slim Whitman and the Allman Brothers band was formed here
oh yeh and at work i checked in peter noone aka "herman" of hermans hermits
and the really annoying song you cant get our of your head
