I'm trying to be sympathetic, Sour, but ... It's like watching somebody smack their toe on the bed frame and hop around the room with their foot in their hand going, ow, ow, ow! I'm sorry you got caught in the storm (really!), but ... I can't help this!

Picked enough green beans to be able to can 5 more pints! Every little bit helps

I'm supposed to fill the canner so I also canned three quart jars of water. So now I also have three quarts of sterile water, which is handy to have if I ever need to make sterile saline quickly to treat a wound, chicken, human, dog or cat.

This is just plain brilliant. I never thought of doing this!

Thanks, but I can't take credit for this. There was a thread on here about canning and preserving foods I used to follow, I think it was perchiegal's (?) who has since passed away (forgive me if I have the wrong person!), and I learned it on that thread. Wish that thread would revive, actually, it was because of it that I got the courage to invest in my pressure canner and actually use it. I've canned chicken thighs (yum!) and pinto beans so far.
