Where can I find hemp?

Most of us have to order it online, there's not a lot of feed stores that carry hemp bedding, but wouldn't hurt to check your local feed stores to see if they have it or can order it.

If you have to order it, it can start getting costly due to shipping. I only need a bag maybe every 18-24 months so the cost is ok since I minimize using it.

Hemp is great in the coop. I use that and/or pine shavings.
I keep a thick layer of wood chips in the run. The chickens do a decent job of turning it over but there are some spots I will turn about once a month.
I've never removed anything from the run.

I recommend bark chips or mulch it does a great job of draining and not smelling. Also drains really well so not muddy! I use it in my run and it worked well even with messy ducks!

We use Sand where we are; it’s great for drainage of moisture and they love it…

Well, june 6th 2022 will be one year of a fully functional henhouse and since day 1, I have scooped their nightly poops. Original hemp still there and its perfect. No smells, no bugs, no moisture. On really hot days, i will put hose on mist and mist the hemp to keep dust down. Hemp for the win!
