What Moves You?

Cyn you would have LOVED seeing Roadie try to attack the mystery roo through the chain link. He was CRAZY mad!!!! I found it comical more than moving, but I usually do find my birds antics comical.

There are few things that really move me, but reading about the deaths of heroes has done it. Without fail, when I read of Stonewall Jackson or General Lee's deaths I get choked up. People who die fighting the good fight, or people who die having fought the good fight and sadly failed. Something about it just gets me right in the heart.

Nothing was worse than seeing the procession for the firefighters that lost their lives last fall. Hundreds of fire trucks on a closed freeway, with all the black cars behind them. It was awful.

So many things move me but here are just some.

1. The way people who lost all their possessions and stock have buckled down and got on with things and helped each other after their homes and businesses have been under six feet of water:

2. A child crying.

3. A beautiful view nor sky.

A baby's laughter.

My puppy's silly smile

Little Luna kitty crying in the middle of the night and running into my arms

My Pop calling me and telling me today that he loves me and WILL becoming down to make me Thanksgiving dinner even though I don't want them to see me when I'm on chemo. "You're my baby, it doesn't matter to me. You aren't going to stop your Mom from coming and checking on your!"

A good number of years ago I was at my ex husbands' uncles' funeral. I had met him several times and he was a nice guy, but I wasn't at all "close" to him. He was retired from the Coast Guard and some of his military friends paid tribute to him. One, in full uniform played Amazing Grace on the bag pipes. I cried so hard. I felt ridiculous because it wasn't even my uncle, but my God those bagpipes really got to me. And when we left, from a downtown church in a small but busy city, to see everyone stop and move aside.... it was so emotional.

On my way to work every night is my prayer-time with God. I take the time to notice all the beauty he has placed before me.
I love rainy days when the sun shines through & creates a rainbow; I've been lucky enough to have seen double rainbows.
I love to hear a baby's laugh.
Having one of my kids call me because they miss me.
Having someone really dear to me in pain, whether physical or not, will cause me to cry.
Unconditional love from a child. Or an animal.
Seeing Lucy actually lay an egg.
(eta) FOOTY PAJAMAS--I'm a nut for them & tis the season!
There are so many things I could list, but I would run out of room before I ran out of answers for this question!

Arlington, taps, full moon on a midnight sky, a duckling with just it's head out of the shell looking around like, "Whaaaaat the heck?" The first time I pick up a puppy and see "someone" looking back at me with a puzzeled expression in just opened eyes, new unsoiled snow fall...the old vets at the VA...the smell of grass right after it is cut...seeing my son's or sister's number on caller...
the movies...so many good movies...Gran Torino, The Kite Runner, Billy Elliot, August Rush. I Dreamed of Africa, Life is Beautiful with Roberto Benigni...too many to remember...lots of things...life is good...poignant and hilarious at the same time...
