What on earth is this???

We have had chickens for several years and have never run across something like this. What do you think happened?

Ummm.. you got an egg in an egg. It happens. I read on here where someone got a double yolk egg, with another egg inside that double yolker. Just a hiccup. LOL. Nice picture. Did you eat it?

You forgot to season it. I like a little salt and a lot of pepper. It's cooked near perfect, still a bit of slime and that's great for a hearty wheat toast to soak up as you serve the sunny up egg on top. Mmm...

My mom had got eggs from us and cracked that open today and was quite surprised to say the least. So surprised she jumped in the car to bring it to my house to show me
We had one of our older chickens die suddenly for no reason yesterday. Do you think there could be a blockage so something and this was her egg?

Depends on how big the egg was. If was stuck in her for a while, that could have been why she died. Otherwise, nice egg-inside-an-egg!
