I'm with you, Lynzi. There's no way I would spend that kind of money on something that could kill itself getting spooked by a piece of tar paper flapping on the roof.

Your makin me laugh Lynzi lol I mean no offense either but if I paid that much for a rabbit it better poop gold lol or be able to clean my house, thats a whole paycheck to some people, I used to breed New Zealands and I would be embarrassed to ask over 50 lol, I had a rabbit once that was best friends with one of my hens and they used to free-range together lol It was like the odd couple,If I put the rabbit in her cage the chicken would sit near it or on top of the hutch, once i let the door open shed hop down and they'd go about their merry way lol so funny

I wish I could let my two Hollands free range. There's a woman down the road from me a couple miles that I know raises mini rexes (you can pick there coat out in a crowd!) and she has at least two that I've seen roaming free around her yard. A black and broken brown (castor or tort, too hard to tell from the car as I pass by). We just bought a leash for our rabbits just so the kids could get them out of their cages. I think my chinchilla buck would take off as he was always headed towards the woods, the harlequin, she may hang out and eat the grass a while, until she got spooked and took off. I'd love to have a breed that would just hang out in the yard. But even as babies these two darted off so fast to the point where my kids were crying because they thought we'd never catch them.

They are both miniature lops, one black broken (or butterfly) the other an agouti. A rex would have short and close coat that would resemble the look and feel of velvet. They look a little larger than what would be classed as a minature lop in the UK but I'm not entirely sure if the lop breeds differ a little in the US, I have a feeling they do. Anyway, regardless of breed they should make lovely little pets!

Ok, before I replied this time I checked out the US breed specific information! The first is a Steel dutch (possibly a cross but could just be a heavily coloured mismark therefore would still be a purebred dutch. The second is the same, just the colour is different which is referred to as Gray. The third I would say is most definitely a mismark Gray dutch, this is what I would expect a mismark to look like if bred from two well marked parents rather than the first two that are too heavily coloured. Type wise they all look very dutch to me!!

We are picking up 2 rabbits tomorrow. I am thinking broken Rex and mini lop??whats your opinions on breeds? Will get better pictures tomorrow of course :)

I agree, not a Rex but a mini or holland lop (hard to tell size from the pics) with helicopter ears. ;-) My holland buck's ears never went down :-/ Looks the same for that one.
