Went to a rabbit show today, it was very interesting. I bought two pairs of pedigreed Dutch rabbits, Chocolate and Torti. No pics yet, but here is a pic of my Mini Satin buck;
just found this thread. thought i would join.I have been breeding and showing rabbits for almost 20 years. i have had so many different breeds over the years. right now i have Himalayan and Britannia petites.
Today my doe is on day 26 and has been in nest box all morning and when i put feed in she always runs over but she did not today. hoping she is getting comfy.
If I were you, I would seperate them all. If you don't at least seperate the males to avoid fighting. And keep the cages at least 2 inches apart, because you don't want them breeding through the wire or picking fur from each other.
yeah they are outside so the cages are a few feet a part. although didnt think about the breeding! LOL they are all very young still. two of the females I am getting are sisters. would it be okay to keep them together until i build/buy another cage?
As long as you are sure that they are both females (double and triple check!), and they get along fairly well, then I would try it. But seperate them if they start fighting.
okay if not I do have an dog xpen lines in chicken wire I could use for now in the garage. I don't want any fighting! and yes I will be checking lol. one is 12 weeks other is 9 weeks. They are more like cousins than sisters. But they are being housed together at the moment. so we will seeonce we get them Thank you for your help!
